Hello! I’m Sara Pezeshkpour, AMFT.
I believe you already possess the wisdom and strength you need to achieve fulfillment. Therapy can help you get there.
My approach to therapy
My goal is to help you live a life that is purposeful, fulfilling, and meaningful — that is, to be authentically you. No matter your upbringing or struggles, you deserve the joy and peace that stems from living in alignment with your true self.
Therapy is a powerful tool with far-reaching effects. As you engage in the therapeutic process, you may find yourself exploring various paths – paths that touch on experiences, beliefs, and feelings that may at first seem to have nothing to do with the issues that led you here. Therapy provides insight into how these paths are interconnected and how they have created the person you are today. In therapy, you will more deeply understand who you are, who you want to be, and what you need to do to get there..
Therapy can help you heal, grow, and thrive.
In our sessions, you will step out of the chaos and into a supportive space that is entirely dedicated to you. I will help you identify your strengths and how you can use them to achieve your goals.
We will take a close look at what has worked and what hasn’t, so that you can gain deeper insight into yourself and your relationships. These insights can empower you to reclaim your agency, cultivate resilience, and live with intention.
This work can be challenging. It requires commitment – not only to the process of therapy, but to yourself. Therapy can create lifelong improvements in emotional wellness, relationships, and quality of life — if you lean into the process.
With even the smallest amount of courage and faith, I believe you can start a rewarding journey with short and long-term benefits.
A little about me
Perhaps the most important factor in the therapeutic process is the relationship between the therapist and their client. Therefore, you should know a little about me and why I love this work.
In addition to being an Associate Marriage & Family Therapist, I am a civil rights lawyer. I aim to address systemic injustice and oppression, and fight for the rights of marginalized communities to equal housing, work, and social involvement. I speak Farsi and I am familiar with the unique challenges faced by immigrants and their families.
As an Associate Therapist, my goal is to help clients pursue justice in a different way. I strive to help individuals and couples reach validation, acceptance, connection, and empowerment.
As a lawyer, I have a unique understanding of the stresses and pressures of legal professionals and others working in high-stress professions like medicine or finance. I am also deeply passionate about empowering marginalized individuals, like people with disabilities, and their families and communities.
As your therapist, I will work with you to define your goals, strategize how to achieve them, and make adjustments to ensure the best possible outcomes. Along the way, I will create a safe and inclusive space to help you embrace your inherent worth on your path to healing.
